Homeschooling Against All Odds

Our Faith-Walk Experience

Journals from an Audacious Mother

What Would You Do?

When the author and her husband began homeschooling in the year 2000, their world was completely turned upside down.

They decided to remove their children from the German public school system, fully knowing this was illegal.

Parents were either incarcerated or their children were taken away.

Despite knowing the danger, the author and her husband decided to walk in faith. They plunged deep into His arms, and learned to trust God fully. His promises were everything at at ime when fear was a daily companion.

It was during those two years that the family saw many miracles. God never left their side.

May this heart-warming and true story be a blessing to you.

ESCAPE THROUGH TIME

Can it last? How can one find a future while living in the past?

She longs for a different life

Jade has spent the last two decades being the good wife and mother, but pretending her marriage is a good one, is slowly killing her. Since the beginning, her husband has lived in his own world – purposely avoiding her. Unfullfilled and more lonely than she cares to admit, Jade finds solace with her farm animals, volunteer jobs and learning the ukulele, mere distractions from her unhappiness. She dreams of companionship and aches for the kind of love that withstands the test of time … but it will take a miracle for her to find that.

And makes an unbelievable journey of the heart

When Jade awakens on a cobblestone street, confused and scared, she is seized by a man dressed in odd, historical clothing and speaking a language she can’t understand. Sure that she’s having a nightmare – or an aneurism – Jade is taken  by Tiberius to his sister’s home, where she hopes to find answers. But once they arrive at Claudia’s house, Jade realizes everything around her is real. It’s real. It’s Roman. And it’s the year 85 AD. Unable to comprehend how or why she traveled back in time, Jade does the best she can to learn the language and to help with the day to day work at Claudia’s house, fully expecting to be treated as a mere servant. But what she finds is the acceptance, love, and kindness … the life she’s yearned for.

KINGDOM OF ETERNITY

She has no reason to live …

Eighteen-year old Tess Morgan can’t live with the abuse anymore. Continued beatings by her father has left her broken, both in body and spirit. Taking the only two things she has – her beloved dog, Gino, and a yard sale necklace she couldn’t resist to buy – she prepares to take her own life. Before jumping off the cliffs, she cries out to a God unknown to her.

Everyone he loves is dead.

Widower Jason Logan has nothing left to live for. The agony of losing both his wife and unborn child is more than he can bear. Drinking heavily, he is angry with the world and even angrier with God. Clutching a mysterious necklace his wife left for him, Jason drives into the woods with his gun, intending to end his misery. As he weeps, he cries out to God right before pulling the trigger …

Can they find love and happiness in a place of suffering?

Ancient Egypt, 1447 BC. The land is filled with anguish. The foretold plagues have begun, and the Nile is filled with blood. Tess and Jason wake up in different locations, both confused and unsure if they are dead or dreaming.

One finds their way into Pithom, while the other is taken captive and brought to Goshen, the land of the Hebrews. When the Israelites are finally allowed to leave Egypt, Tess and Jason are amongst the great walking multitude. Will Tess find her necklace, which had been taken from her? Or will they be forced to wander the wilderness for forty years with the Children of Israel?
